On February 21st 2019, our Career Development team took Corpsmembers to Oakland for the GRID Alternatives PV101 training. GRID Alternatives believes that a successful transition to clean, renewable energy needs to include everyone. To achieve this, GRID Alternatives works across the United States and internationally to make renewable energy technology and job training accessible to underserved communities. This workshop was focused on solar panel installation and practices such as understanding circuit control boxes, solar panel types, electrical conduits and installation. SFCC Corpsmembers were excited about the on-the-job experience they recieved while learning important energy-specific career skills! Thanks to GRID Alternatives for hosting this workshop. You can learn more about them here.
