Minimum Eligibility Requirements
Attend an open house
Be ages 18-26 on your first day of enrollment
Have all the following documents:
Valid ID
Valid Work Authorization (e.g. SSN, Birth Certificate or Passport)
Vaccinations
COVID-19
Tetanus
High School Diploma:
Must enroll in John Muir Charter School (If High School Diploma not completed or be enrolled in a creditable education institution)

When you join the Corps, you will do…
Job Training:
Hands on work with different SFCC work crews
Crew work is 6-8 hours a day
Crew work happens in teams of 5-10 corpsmembers under the supervision of a professional staff leader

Attend high school classes with skilled instructors to help you earn your diploma with John Muir Charter School for those without a high school diploma
Professional and personal development workshops
Develop your resume, cover letter and public speaking skills
Job searching and interview preparation
Plan your career and education goals with a career counselor
Attend workshops led by experts in a variety of trades, employment fields, financial management, and more
Corpsmembers earn $19.50 per hour for the hours worked in the field (approximately 30 hours per week). Plus, Corpsmembers are required to attend 2 hours per week of unpaid school or work development workshops. Please see our Corpsmember Participant Description, which includes participant responsibilities and minimum qualifications.
Leadership Positions Within the Corps
Corpsmembers who have trained with the Corps for at least three months, and have demonstrated solid commitment to work, education and strong attendance are eligible to apply for leadership positions including special events specialist, tool room specialist, and crew leader. These positions also offer a pay increase. All Corpsmembers are part-time, temporary, non-exempt employees.
